Good sightseeing :- Henry Ford & Eddison had counrty houses in Fort Myers, circus-master Ringling had a beautiful house built in an Italian style and an Arts Centre in Sarasota, the Bocca Grand ancient town on nearby Gaspirilla Island has a lighthouse and museum with a fine picture record of early settlers. If you want to experience adventure we suggest Busch Gardens or a trip on the air-ride boats that skim the Everglades. Myakka State Park & Babcock Ranch are also well worth visiting.
Shopping - Publix, SweetBay, & Winn-Dixie supermarkets, Schekters fruit & veg stall off McCall Road, WallMart & Target stores and in the Malls of Port Charlotte & Venice you will find anchor stores like Macy/Burdines, Dillards, GAP, Old Navy as well as boutique shops. At Ellenton an hours drive towards Tampa Prime Outlets has a mighty large quality discount shopping centre selling designer label goods from watches (great Seiko outlet store), shoes, and clothes for him/her/teenagers and youngsters.
Eating out :- is so varied, Johnny Loverocks, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Blue Lagoon, Mammas are but a few. Please read up what previous guests say about their eating out experiences in our comments book in the villa. We really like several restaurants in Bocca Grande and the Olive Garden in Port Charlotte.
Great sandy beaches complete the picture - Englewood, Stumps Pass, Venice & Bocca Grande all have fine beaches. Generally all the beaches in this part of the coast have a pavillion type changing room & toilets which is very convenient.
